South African Hip-Hop Artist Lwansta Releases Short Film “Lindiwe”
Lwansta’s simple storytelling over the track’s mellow instrumental entices the listener with a look into the troubles of a girl named Lindiwe, who finds herself navigating a life of love and loss. “Lindiwe” was directed, edited and shot by the renaissance man himself, and he appears in the very last scene of the black and white hip-hop drama.
We caught up with the 22-year-old emcee, who’s been active in South Africa’s underground music scene since 2008, and spoke about where he’s been and where he’s headed. Lwansta’s ultimate goal is to tell his truths through art – a maxim he believes best describes his creative process. The artist crowns his latest mixtape as his “most profound and most successful body of work to date.”
Lwansta is sure to capture listeners, viewers and hearts all across the globe.
The song is available on iTunes, but for now, check out the short film, “Lindiwe” here:
